We hosted an AI music video competition with $1150 prize money, co-sponsored by chAIos media. Musician and YouTuber Andrew Southworth was kind enough to offer his song "Black Hole" as the song for the competition. The rules were simple:
AI artist Deep Surface submitted this piece in which he used 3 versions of the song and blended them together in post processing. As one of the judges said:
This one really stood out because of how it played with layers – it was like watching multiple videos at once, but in a way that totally worked. Super creative and kind of abstract, which I loved
Stormcrow trained a custom model on Andrew Southworth and created this audio-reactive piece with beautiful imagery and also additional layers on top. Word from the judges:
This video also had a strong narrative, with the main character's journey into madness and darkness.... They also nailed the narrative transitions, syncing them up with the music in a way that just felt right
DaCounterCulture, with a youtube-channel full of multiple-hour-long neural frames videos, created this powerful video with the title "Stop Human Trafficking". The music video tells a powerful story with political message that felt so strong that our judges chose it as the winner.
I was really drawn to how this AI music video went beyond just echoing the lyrics. It told its own story, one that hit the same emotional notes as the song but in a fresh, unexpected way.
We thank all contestants for their submissions and are very much looking forward to the next round of our AI music video competition.
